Book Condition: Good; checkout pocket in rear; wear to head, tail, tips, and board bottoms; bumped upper tips and tail. Blue cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine and front board with covered wagon on front board in gilt. Two foldout maps present. 241 pp 8vo. A work of historical fiction about the great westward migration that occurred in the US in 1846. From civilization these settlers traveled 2000 miles through uncharted wilderness on foot, horseback and by covered wagon. If the terrain wasn't bad enough there were the confrontations with the Red Man to deal with as well. These pioneer farmers, tradesman, craftsmen, and adventurers will always be remembered for their part in one of the boldest undertakings of all time. A clean presentable copy.
