This is a near fine hardcover copy in blue cloth with gilt fountain device and title on the front cover and spine labels still bright, in a very good hardshell slipcase. Completely clean inside and out. Slipcase has light wear. Text in Italian. This copy has the often missing pamphlet "Translation of text accompanying figures" in German and English laid-in. 251 magnificent black & white plates. The laid-in pamphlet translates the notes to these plates. Extensive bibliography. A classic in near fine condition. Folio, 12" high X 10" wide, 306 pages.
