About This Item

London: Constable & Co Ltd, 1937. First edition. Hardcover. Very Good. The director of the publishing firm of Constable & Co., a British delegate to the Paris Peace Conference (1919), a member of the secretariat of the League of Nations, and a novelist, Michael Sadleir (1888-1957) was also a noted book collector and literary historian who specialized in 19th century English fiction, notably the work of Anthony Trollope. Inscribed and dated in the year of publication by the author on the half-title. Light foxing to the fore-edge. The original lavender cloth binding is a bit sunned along the spine, with some general minor edgewear; otherwise very good. Inscribed by Author.
