'On Green Dolphin Street' narrates the troubles, fears, dilemmas, problems and happiness of its characters. Set in America in 1959, this novel follows Mary van der Linden and her husband Charlie who works at the British embassy in Washington, when the world is filled with parties, jazz and family happiness. The events of the novel are set against the backdrop of the presidential battle between Kennedy and Nixon, and thus the Cold War.
