About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co, [1936]. Diana Younger. First edition. INSCRIBED, "For Diana / who drew the figures in the end papers (of this book) ... love / from Dennis." Diana Younger, Wheatley's stepdaughter, illustrated the endpapers for this book and several others, and the dust jacket for THE GOLDEN SPANIARD (1938). Red cloth boards stamped in black on front and spine. Cloth frayed at head of spine, light stain on spine, "tide" mark along lower edge, otherwise crisp and bright and therefore better than good. In fair to good dust jacket skinned at edges and folds and with shallow chipping and one deeper v-shaped chip affecting the "D" in Dennis on front panel. NICE FAMILY ASSOCIATION, INSCRIBED
