About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1932. First Edition . Soft cover. Very Good. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Very Good. See scans and description. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1932. First US Edition, Review Copy. [New Age antecedent fiction]. Wraps. 451 pp. Octavo, perfect-bound illustrated wrappers. Very Good. Spine toned, leaning, and a bit creased. Some edgewear to wrappers, the stamped review copy enjoinder "Sample Copy Not For Sale" of front wrapper is mostly crossed out, but shows in full on title page (see scan). One of the most popular of the once wildly popular Charles Morgan's titles. Morgan's extreme popularity in his time was due largely to the romantic mysticism in his work, something of a precursor to today's new age literature. Of this, The Fountain is a fine example. Hard to replace, extremely so as the ARC. L27
