Description

Buffalo: Firefly Books, 2007. Hardcover. G (Ex-art library, with scuffs to mylar cover, which can be removed; labels on book; i.d. marks on book block edges and outermost pages; interior is crisp and clean.). Blue and illustrated boards in mylar cover; 600 pp., profusely illus. in color and BW. "Documents the inquisitive exploration of an architect for whom 'architecture is an obsession.' Designing in elements of light and shadow, using poised geometry to create sculptured chaos, and building in revolutionary high-tech materials, Gehry redefines the principle that 'form follows function' in myriad ways. His ethereal designs celebrate an organic dialogue between art and architecture that pushes the utopia of Modernism into the real world." (back cover).
