London: George Bell and Sons. 1900. Revised edition, a new chapter "Lord Leighton's house in 1900" by Mr. Revised edition, a new chapter "Lord Leighton's house in 1900" by Mr. S. Pepys Cockerell published here for the first time. Bound by Henry Young and Sons, Liverpool in half red morocco and marbled paper covered boards. Five raised bands, compartments decorated in gilt and green and titles in gilt titles to the spine. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Illustrated extensively with black and white plates throughout. A beautiful near fine copy, the binding square and firm, the red morocco rich and without fading. The contents, with the bookplate of the book collector Robert J. Hayhurst to the front pastedown and some spotting to the prelims and text block edge are otherwise clean throughout. A beautifully bound example.
