These books are offered by Our Literary Cafe, a small company that believes in recycling good novels and giving historical/valuable works to good homes. The profits we gain support The Ronald McDonald House, Doernbecher's Children's Hospital, Randall's Children Hospital both in Portland, Oregon, the Shriner's Children s Hospital and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Please browse our listings to see if any of the wonderful works might interest you.

Condition: Both volumes are in excellent condition. Vol II has several notations in pencil on inside cover, there are no other apparent marks within these Novels.

About Frederick the Second: Frederick II (German: Friedrich; 24 January 1712 – 17 August 1786) ruled the Kingdom of Prussia from 1740 until 1786, the longest reign of any Hohenzollern king.[a] His most significant accomplishments during his reign included his military victories, his reorganization of Prussian armies, his patronage of the arts and the Enlightenment and his final success against great odds in the Seven Years' War. Frederick was the last Hohenzollern monarch titled King in Prussia and declared himself King of Prussia after achieving sovereignty over most historically Prussian lands in 1772. Prussia had greatly increased its territories and became a leading military power in Europe under his rule. He became known as Frederick the Great (Friedrich der Große) and was nicknamed Der Alte Fritz ("The Old Fritz") by the Prussian people and eventually the rest of Germany.

About these Novels: A few of Frederick's poems are printed within as well as a documented history of his life from birth through his eventual death are chronicled within the entire 4 novel set. These are just two of the original 4 Novel set.
