New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1948. 481 pages in very good condition. Pages are clean and unmarked with some tables and illustrations throughout. Previous owner's bookplate and signature on the ffep. Page edges are lightly smudged. Bound in brown cloth with gilt titles and red accents. Lightly worn around the edges. Boards are lightly faded and scuffed. Beige dustjacket in poor condition with red titles. Heavily worn around the edges with large chips, creases, stains, and tears. Puncture hole and large tear on the spine. Front flap is nearly detached. VG-/P. Hardcover. Very Good-/Poor. Illus. by Brooks, Allan.
