Some of these boundaries are physical borders, others are internal guilts, philosophical divides, cultural differences, or emotional and intellectual edges. We have found that some boundaries, lines, or borders hold us back or contain us, while others beg to be crossed, and in crossing them we find ourselves set free of the constraints in our lives. Designed and printed by the artist in 2015-2016 during residency as a Scholar for Advanced Studies in Book Arts at the Center for Book Arts in New York. Beth Sheehan: "The book was inspired by a small pamphlet that I made during my time in Florence, Italy in 2012. Much of my work deals with the idealization of memory, particularly concerning relationships. "My work can't be divorced from the aspect of time. All of my work is about memory; the influence of memories on identity, the beauty of nostalgia, and the disfunction of memory. This book is a monument to the act of remembering. Inspired by a photo of an event in my childhood I don't remember, my…

Denver, Colorado:: X-Press Editions,, 1987.. Edition of 20. 6 ¾ x 9 ½; 44 pages; monoprint, silkscreen, letterpress, offset. Printed in four colors with softcover Japanese sewn. Judy Anderson: "When my twin sister Jane and I were young, we shared a terrifying recurring nightmare. This book began when Jane moved to Singapore, it was if we were tragically separated. Those feelings and remembered dreams sequences inspired the book: the first, reading from front to back, dissolves as the book progresses. The second sequence reads from back to front, dissolving as they meet and overlap in the middle. Although I love this book dearly, it is hard for Jane to read it as it brings back such vivid dreams.

Air pollution, volcanic glass shards, greenhouse gases and industrial chemicals circulate across the planet and become trapped within air bubbles in the ice, preserving samples of the earth's atmosphere over hundreds and thousands of years. Austin: Texas Writers Project, 2000. Original . Broadside. FINE. 24 x 36 inches, printed on high quality coated stock with metalic ink. Shipped- rolled in heavy tube. This fabulous poster was created especially for the featured author of Texas Writers Month in 2000 held in Austin, Texas by graphic designer Marc English. It is printed on heavy high quality coated stock in metalic inks: silver and bronze and laid over a duotone photograph of the rugged Big Bend country of West Texas. The poster quotes a long scene from McCarthy's BLOOD MERIDIAN with drops of bronze red blood for emphasis. This is a stunning visual and carries the impact of the original text depicting a scene of horror as the savages line up on horseback along the ridge their glass beads and painted bodies caught forever in the sun's hot glare as they anticipate the massacre that would follow. Only McCarthy could make this scene so vivid you might have to put the book down and never finish it.
