The first edition of this scarce early nineteenth century travel guide on England, Scotland, and Wales, with the original large folding map. A detailed early nineteenth century travel guide on England, Wales, and part of Scotland, containing all the direct and principal cross roads to every city and market town. Also including large indexes to the front and rear, containing roads from London, a travelling dictionary, over 6,000 villages, and country seats and remarkable objects. The first edition of this scarce work. Retaining the original half title. Including a large folding map, hand-outlined in colour. Containing a previous owner's small ink signature to the front free-endpaper and half title. Containing a small ink mark to the front board.  In contemporary paper boards. Externally, shelf wear and some marks to the boards, and an ink mark to the front board. Significant wear to the spine, resulting in some cords being exposed. Paper lifting to the head of the spine. Joints are rubbed and starting. Containing a previous owner's small ink signature to the front free-endpaper and half title. Internally, binding is strained. A closed tear to the folding map, and some light handling marks to the odd page, otherwise pages are generally clean. Good Only
