Description

New York: William Morrow & Co., 1968. First Edition, First Printing. . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Better known as a prolific writer of westerns under the pseudonymns of Will Henry and Clay Fisher, Allen also authored several science fiction works, including this novel of the Cold War era in which Yuri Suntar is whisked away from the Moscow Political Academy and spirited aboard a train for Siberia to the headquarters of the top secret Genesis District Five. He knows only he is on a classified mission for the State, one which involves his twin brother, Yang, who is trainer to a mysterious pack of wolves, which is about to be used in a bizarre genetic experiment with human grotesques. The book and dustjacket show a small stain at the top of the spine. The stain shows only on the dustjacket's verso and in the corner of the back panel, not being noticeable on the dj's black outer side or the black cloth of the book's covers. O/w, the book shows light bumping at the lower corners, some edgewear and light soiling on the text edges. The dustjacket shows wear at the edges, corners and spine ends but no significant tears, creases or chipping beyond the stain noted above. It looks quite presentable in a mylar protector and is an unusual addition for a sci fi collector.
