About This Item

New York: Random House, 1952. x. Hardcover. Very Good Plus. 8x5x1. Donald McKay. Nice condition Gettysburg Landmark Hardback Pictorial Cover. Inside text appears to be unread but does have a few pages in the back that have a small bent upper page tip. Pages themselves are crisp and clean with no marks. Outside pictorial covers are nice with some minor wear to include the outside corners and edges. Landmark Books and World Landmark Books are accurate, in-depth stories for young people in the 9-15 year old range. These living histories were written by award-winning authors or by men and women who experienced the events first hand. Written during the 1950's and 1960's and illustrated either with two-color drawings or clear photographs, the books are informative, enjoyable, and well worth reading and collecting. Landmark Book #23. Gettysburg brings to life an event that happened long ago. The anger and bitterness that caused it have disappeared. Now, in this deeply felt and understanding story, we see only brave men, fighting and dying for causes which they believed to be just.
