Can be restored to very close to original state by professional binder. SOLD AS IS. 8vo. Profusely illustrated in black and white by Hoppink, Stephens, Williams, White, etc. etc.. BAL 3357: 1st edition, mixed state. First states of pp. vii, xvi, 246, 180, 332, & 403. Later states of pp. 351 & 353.

The Gilded Age: A Tale of Today was written by Mark Twain and Charles Warner in 1873. This novel by is the only one that Twain wrote a collaborator. This novel focuses on the corruption and big business ventures of post-Civil War America. A biting satire, this novel gave the era it's name in history: The Gilded Age.
