About the author

Gerry Deiter (photography) was an American ex-pat, photojournalist and portrait/fashion photographer, teacher, and stringer for "Life" and "Time" magazines. He was present for all eight days at the John Lennon and Yoko Ono "bed-in" at Montreal's Queen Elizabeth Hotel in May 1969, at which he took approximately 500 photographs. Deiter passed away in 2005.

Joan Athey (research and compilation) is a communications specialist, having worked for newspapers, advertising agencies, and the CBC for 21 years in public relations, marketing and promotion. Joan resides in Victoria, BC. Her website is www.peaceworksnow.com.

Paul McGrath (editor) was rock critic for "The Globe and Mail" from 1976 to 1983 and a reporter for CBC TV's "The Journal" until 1993. He has written dozens of TV scripts and his directing credits include "John and Yoko's Year of Peace" (CBC, 2000) and "Give Peace a Song" (CBC, 2005), the latter about the recording of "Give Peace A Chance." Gerry Deiter was a consultant on the project. Paul resides in Toronto.
