Very heavy book and priced accordingly. ; B&W Photographs; 432 pages; An account of America's first land battle of World War II describing the surprise Japanese attack on Wake Island just hours after Pearl Harbor. The battle would last just over two weeks before the island's defences were breached by a major assault on December 23rd. .
