Each plate is hand colored and highlighted with gum arabic, with attractive calligraphic poem beneath.

Rev. Gleig authored several books, including "A Narrative of the Campaigns of the British Army at Washington and New Orleans," L, 1826 and "The History of the British Empire in India" L, 1830-35.
