When she discovers a fire and attempts to save the valuable paintings in the house, investigations commence from Inspector French and the insurance company. Written by Freeman Wills Crofts, an Irish writer best known for his mystery novels and the creation of the character Inspector Joseph French. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the edges of the boards. Light fraying to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Age toning to the endpapers. Good

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
