New York: The John Day Company, 1932. 1st Edition 22nd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Author's second published novel. This book was the 1932 Pulitzer Prize winner and was her most famous title. Light brown cloth covered boards have gilt text on spine and front panel with an impressed country scene in both title boxes. fo name at top of full title p., ffep is missing, top edge dyed green, green/white decorative ep's. Book is tight and square. Laid in are two newspaper obituary clippings and magazine picture of the author. Bookseller's Inventory # 231071.
