So This Philosophically Sophisticated Discussion Was Well-Protected From Causing Any Effect On Nixon When He Was Later A Student There. William Patten (1861-1932) Was An American Biologist And Zoologist Noted For His Late 1919 Address "The Message Of The Biologist", Given To The American Association For The Advancement Of Science, And Follow-Up With This 1920 Book The Grand Strategy Of Evolution: The Social Philosophy Of A Biologist, In Both Of Which He Utilizes Chemistry Theory, Mixed With Evolution Theory, Mixed With Biology, To Outline A Philosophy Of Society. Patten Was Born In Watertown, Massachusetts On 15 March 1861. He Attended Harvard University And Was Awarded A B.Sc. Degree In 1883. He Then Studied With Rudolph Leuckart At Leipzig University In Germany. Leuckart Specialised In Parasitology As Well As Having Some Interest In Insects, Taking A Morphological Approach To Both. Patten Studied Marine Invertebrates With Leuckart's Group, Developing A Life-Long Interest In Embryology And Evolutionary Relationships. His Work Was Supported By A Fellowship From Harvard For Three Year's Research In Europe. He Was Awarded A Doctoral Degree In 1884. He Then Spent A Year At The Zoological Station At Trieste And Another At The Naples Zoological Station. In 1920 He Was Professor Of Biology At Dartmouth.
