About the author

Rhonda Gowler Greene has fond memories of being at her grandma's. She remembers driving a tractor, climbing huge trees, and catching lots of fireflies. Ms. Greene is the author of "Barnyard Song "and "The Stable Where Jesus Was Born." A former preschool and elementary teacher, she lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan, with her family.
Karla Firehammer enjoyed working on this book as it brought back memories shared with her grandmother, gardening and baking raspberry pie and cinnamon muffins. Ms. Firehammer has illustrated several books for young readers, including "The Flea's Sneeze, If the Shoe Fits, "and "From the Doghouse: Poems to Chew On," for which she helped create intricate, hand-beaded illustrations. She lives in Lenexa, Kansas, with her three dogs.
