Rebound by Bayntun-Riviere in full reddish orange polished calf, exquisitely tooled in gilt, gilt titling & tooling to spine in six compartments, with black and brown morocco title labels; all edges gilt, with dentelle & cotton-candy marbled endpapers. With 21 black & white illustrations by F.W. Pailthorpe, including frontispiece ('Pip leaves the Village') with tissue guard. Introduction by Frederick Page. The otherwise common New Oxford Illustrated Dickens in a decidedly uncommon, strangely attractive signed Bayntun binding.
