About This Item
New York: Macmillan and Co., 1916. Stephens, who would become one of Ireland's most popular writers, was a witness to the attempted Revolution of 1916 in Dublin, and wrote one of the best first-person reports. This slim volume of poetry, issued six months after that fateful Easter, seems evocative. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition (precedes that of the UK), which is LIMITED to 500. Green paper-covered boards with a parchment spine and gilt lettering. Mild soil, with the corners bumped and a small waterstain on the lower front board. The pages are printed to be intentionally unopened. Decorative border around each page of text. No dustjacket. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
