About This Item

Garden City: Doubleday, 1969. First Edition. Cloth in dust jacket; small 8vo. 96 pp. Laid in is a typed signed letter (TLS) of some 100 words on Untermeyer's printed stationery dated Feb. 20, 1970, to Louis Untermeyer, beginning in a characteristically light and humorous note: "It was large of you to notice my notice". Untermeyer as Librarian of Congress (now a post known as Poet Laureate "had him put on wax". About fine in very near fine complete and bright dust jacket with mild tanning (in removable protective archival cover). Several spots of glue to ffep and correspondingly to the letter, which is folded in thirds else fine. Attractive book with a brief but interesting letter, and a good association.
