Description

stains/foxing to stiff card covers both front & reverse; crease to upper front & moderate wear to external hinges. Binding very tight. sewn binding and "double" end papers both fore & aft. Light foxing to fore edge and top edge. Internal pages are laid paper and mostly clean except for p. 14 which has foxing at the lower margin. From the colophon: "500 copies of Guardian of the Threshold have been printed in a Limited Edition for the Pindar Press of which 450 numbered copies signed by the author are for sale...This copy is number.... " (this unsigned/unnumbered copy then is one of the 50 which ostensibly were used for presentation/review/legal or for other purposes). From the library of English bibliophile and Aleister Crowley scholar Nicholas C. Bishop-Culpeper with his book label/ex-libris affixed to front pastedown. Inv. # 63807 GOTT* bds 11/2023
