London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1933. 322 pp, 8 3/4" H. Dark brown cloth with gilt lettering/banding on spine, gilt insignia on front board. Colour frontispiece and 16 b&w plates (collated). Countess Airlie uses the letters of her great-uncle, Colonel Strange Jocelyn, to tell a highly personal history of the Crimean War. Some old glue residue and small areas of surface paper loss on front pastedown, small light stain in top margin of page 25, small light foxing mark in margin of page 32, book is slightly cracked in a few places - all pages are holding firmly, one slight corner bump, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, slight fading to color on spine and at top of front board, light staining on spine, light edge wear, very light rubbing.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good+.
