A separate printing of one of the chapters from Principles of Psychology (1890). In it, he argues for the practice of habit formation (education) is to make automatic (habitual) those actions that are useful to us, that allow us to, almost instinctually, move towards a place of satisfaction. CONDITION: Near fine, without dust jacket. Quarter cloth with paper over boards. Gilt lettering to spine. Very light scuffing to head and heel of spine.
