About the author

Author, poet, and artist Elis Juliana lives in Curaao. Hlne Garrett is a doctoral candidate in Modern Languages and Cultural Studies at the University of Alberta. Her Ph.D. thesis is Translating Papiamentu, a language she was exposed to on the islands.
