London, Henry Colburn, 1843 1st. Three Volumes. Hardbacks, approx 7.5 x 4.5 inches. In fine leather bindings by “Bayntun, Bath.” In quarter bound red calf leather to spines and corners, and red cloth to boards, with raised banding, gilt lettering and gilt paneled sporting decorations to spines. All page edges gilt, with marbled endpapers. In very good condition. Spines lovely and bright. A couple of areas of minor rubbing to exremities. Some minor fading to cloth on edges of boards. Top leading corners slightly bumped. Else covers very clean and smart. Bookplates to endpapers “Douglas Peter Crossman.” Binders stamps to verso corners. Insides pages all very clean, bright and tight throughout. A couple of minor edge tears in vol.1 with repairs, notably p282. Else very little handling marks, no foxing. Else a lovely 3 volume set. 3 vols: viii + 328, 316 & 306pp. (This edition not illustrated.)
