But you can read about that elsewhere. Of importance to this listing, 'The Handmaid's Tale' won the 1985 Governor General's Award and the 1987 Arthur C. Clarke Award, and was: short-listed for the 1986 Booker Prize (won that year by Kingsley Amis, for 'The Old Devils'); nominated for the 1986 Nebula Award (congratulations Orson Scott Card for 'Speaker For the Dead') and the 1987 Prometheus Award (won by Vernor Vinge for 'Marooned in Realtime'); turned into a musical satire, became an opera, a film, and a television series, along the way winning a million awards out of a bazillion nominations (no word yet on when the breakfast cereal will be available). Cream cloth w/brown cloth backstrip w/cream spine lettering, 324 pages. Moderately bumped/worn corners/spine ends, quite mild slant, lightly smudged edges, in lightly edgeworn dust jacket w/impressions/scratches, 1/4" tear to top left corner of front panel, another to bottom edge of rear panel, a little flaking to rear panel, moderate general wear..
