London: Thomas Curson Hansard, et al., 1839. First edition. Cloth. Near Fine. 8vo. 1398 numbered double columns - essentially 699 pages, + extensive index. Rebound in a later attractive dark blue library buckram, a few minor marks, blue stains to edges, gilt titles to spine, and in gilt to base of spine, 'Scottish Conservative Club', but there are no library markings whatsoever; internally fine. Reports all debates from the House of Lords, House of Commons, Lists of Divisions and Protests. Debates include the Metropolitan Police Bill, riots in Birmingham, government of lower Canada, landing slaves in Brazil, soldiers' pensions, questions on the Chartists, the opium trade, etc.
