Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the fifth book in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. The story follows Harry, who has been ostracized by the wizarding world after reporting the return of the evil Lord Voldemort. As Harry begins his fifth year at Hogwarts, he forms a secret organization, "Dumbledore's Army," to prepare for Voldemort's return. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Magic seeks to discredit Harry and his allies, causing tensions to rise. The book culminates in a battle at the Ministry, where Harry and his friends confront Voldemort and his Death Eaters.

The First UK edition of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was published by Bloomsbury in 2003. "First published in Great Britain in 2003" and "First edition" is stated on the copyright page. The boards are illustrated to match the dust jacket. The original price was £16.99

The first US edition of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, published by Scholastic in 2003, has the full number line "10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1     03 04 05 06 07", and "Printed in the U.S.A." with one of several possible printing plant numbers. The original price was $29.99. The boards are blue with an embossed diamond pattern and a gray cloth spine with metallic blue lettering.
