N: Karl Robert Langewiesche Verlag, 1909. [Text in German]. Pp. 74+[6](publisher's advertisements), 16 coloured plates, black & white text illustrations; impl. 8vo; decorative stiff paper wrappers, edges lightly worn, with small pieces torn from head and tail of backstrip, small [early price?] sticker on verso of upper wrapper; top edges mottled blue; pages browned, short closed tear to fore-edge of one plate, a little foxing; Karl Robert Langewiesche Verlag, n.d.[1909]. 156th-198th thousand. [Topjon A5] *This was Larsson's first international success, the coloured illustrations being an amalgamation from his first three albums, Ett hem, Larssons, and Spadarvet. 'This publication focuses not on the interior decoration of the Larsson's home, but on his children and the family's life, as [the publisher] Langewiesche felt this would have a greater appeal to the German public.... The story is told that German soldiers carried both the Bible and Das Haus in der Sonne onto the battlefield during World War I as a comforting reminder of home' (Topjon, p. 12].
