London: Printed for Subscribers from plates of the original edition of Bradbury, Agnew & Co, c. 1920. Hand coloured frontispiece, title vignette and plates by H.K.Brown & W.T. Maud. 8vo (9 1/8 x 6 inches),pages: 265:30 [ Robert Smith Surtees a Sketch of his Career]: 30 [John Leech. His Illustrations to Surtees's Novels]. Three-quarter crimson calf, the spine gilt ruled on raised bands and with gilt hunting motifs within the compartments, gilt lettered direct, top edge gilt; the binding by Bayntun, Bath. Crack to paper of upper inner joint but very firm, 1 1/2 inch crack to base of lower joint but there again very firm, some light occasional rubbing but overall a very good and attractive copy.
