About This Item

New York: Museum of Modern Art, 1946. Hardbound. VG, some soiling to back of DJ and minor tearing around edges, book lays flat in the middle pages. Light gray cloth boards with yellow lettering and color illustrated DJ, 96pp, 86 B@ and 4 color plates. This monograph gives a rounded picture of Henry Moore's creative activities, tracing his development from the early works in the twenties to his monumental pieces of the past year. Mr. Sweeney discusses the evolution of the artist's work against the background of his interests; and many carefully chosen halftones attest to the variety and subtlety of his use of stone, terrcotta, wood and metal.
