This a first edition of Abba Eban's fascinating study on the history of Jewish civilization from biblical times until the modern area. Illustrated throughout with b/w and color photographic reproductions. Jacket with minor creasing and sunning along the top edge. Binding with some minor bumping along the top edge. Jacket in in very good+, binding and interior in near fine condition overall. Abba Eban, born Aubrey Solomon Meir Eban; later adopted Abba Solomon Meir Eban; 2 February 1915 - 17 November 2002) was an Israeli diplomat and politician, and a scholar of the Arabic and Hebrew languages.
