London: Continuum,, 2006. First edition, first impression, presentation copy, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "To Marcia with love from Jonathan (hope you enjoy Chapter 5!) October 20th 2006". The recipient was Marcia Falkender, Harold Wilson's key political aide - chapter 5 is "Harold Wilson". Aitken met Wilson and Marcia numerous times and praises the prime minister in the chapter. Octavo. Original red cloth, spine lettered in gilt. With dust jacket. A few page corners formerly turned down in the "Harold Wilson" chapter; jacket not-price clipped, with slight creasing at extremities: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
