Book shows only mild wear, with some publisher's glue residue visible at crease between front and rear pasted down and free endpapers. Dust jacket illustration by Graham Percy. Dust jacket has chipping at head and foot of spine, as well as a split running about 3" up spine edge of front jacket panel. Dust jacket intact, not price clipped. Jacket presents well in mylar. Carter's third book is a novel set in a post-nuclear world, following a near-sociopathic heroine as she undergoes a journey of self-discovery. Scarce in this edition. . First Edition. Hardcover. Synopsis

Angela Carter (1940 -1992) wrote nine novels and numerous short stories, as well as nonfiction, radio plays, and the screenplay for Neil Jordan's 1984 movie The Company of Wolves , based on her story. She won numerous literary awards, traveled and taught widely in the United States, and lived in London.
