[4], v-vi, [2], 386, [6] pp. Bound in dark blue cloth, front board with title and author's name stamped in gilt within green rectangles bordered in gilt separated by two gilt rules with narrower gold rectangles at the top and bottom of the design, spine likewise with gilt lettering within green rectangles (one each for publisher's name, author's name, and title) with a number of gilt rules between, fore-edges rough trimmed. Price of $2.50 on front flap of dust jacket. Johnston A9.1.a. A sharp copy of this posthumous collection of short stories and chapters from an unfinished novel. Fine book in a Near Fine dust jacket with a few traces of edge wear.

Synopsis

The third and last book posthumously culled from the mountains of manuscripts Thomas Wolfe left behind when he died at the age of 37. It includes short stories and ten chapters from a longer piece of fiction, some of the work considered to be his best and most mature work. This work includes a Note of Thomas Wolfe by Edward C. Aswell, Wolfe's last editor who published three of his books after Wolfe's death.
