Corners slightly worn. Hinges cracked. B/w advertising pages, 2 or 3 ads to a page, some with illustrations, at front and rear. Tipped-in color frontispiece has a small crease to bottom right corner, not affecting image. A few of the age-toned text pages have small closed tears in the margins, with no loss. text and illustrations printed in sepia, green, or blue. Four color plates in fine condition, with only the frontispiece having the small crease. Mostly cats; one color plate illustrates a lane of promenading dogs. Wain's anthropomorphized creatures are not always sweet or friendly!

Abner Doubleday was a 19th-century American Army officer known for his role in the Civil War, especially the Battle of Gettysburg. Following his military career, Doubleday wrote autobiographical sketches of his experiences in battle, including "Reminiscences of Forts Sumter and Moultrie". As captain at Fort Sumter, Doubleday made pivotal decisions that helped direct Union forces of the Confederacy.

Binding is spotless. Internally complete, with some darkening to the initial pages. The page edges are rather chipped - but not affecting text. 43 pages. 250 by 160mm (9¾ by 6¼ inches). John Clarke (1755–1798) was a minister of the First Church in Boston, Massachusetts. In the first part of the 19th-century, stories and tales of famous voyages were popular throughout the western world – tales of Captain Cook, Columbus, African voyages, and the East India Company occupied readers from all over. Perhaps the best source of these accounts was 'Bibliotheque Portative des Voyages' – an enormous collection of voyage and exploration accounts.
This atlas tome from the 1817 first edition contains views of the voyages of Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, an important 17th-century voyager to Persia and India. This tome describes Tavernier's time in Constantinople and Tonkin (Vietnam), noting the customs, costumes, and traditions of the people.
It should be mentioned that his volume contains 23 impressive illustrations including a full map of Asia, city view of Constantinople, a portrait of Tavernier, Tonkin funeral processions, and even an engraving of a venomous King cobra!

1910 IN GOOD++ CONDITION. Circa 1910? Accordian folding book, measuring 4-1/4 inches tall, by 2 inches wide, with 24 folding panels, depicting 6 hand-painted, ink and watercolor scenes of graphic, erotic sexual positions. The male genitals are not exaggerated, the scenes are depicted unclothed, while laying on rugs, leaves and fabric. The females depicted have unbound hair, sometimes wearing a red ribbon in it. No text on panels. Covers are paper over boards, with Chinese characters on front and back covers. Small corner damp mark, not affecting the images, slight rubbing to edges, occasional light foxing. COLORS ARE STILL VIBRANT.

One of 200 copies, from a total edition of 700 for England and America, on hand made paper and with the plates printed as proofs on Japanese Vellum. Each of these 200 special copies has an original print of the etching "The Lion and the Unicorn" , signed by Cameron, as the frontis and is numbered and initialed by the publishers. The etching was not issued separately. Illustrated throughout with 434 etchings, each with the original measurements, date of the plate, number printed and other general notes by Frank Rinder. Some occasasional light offsetting from the plates to the text pages opposite but generally it is faint where it occurs. Thomas Shadwell was a famous 17th-century English poet who wrote a number of plays and poems, many of which have been set to a number of songs. One of Shadwell's earliest plays was 'The Royal Shepherdess' which was an adaption of John Fountain's 'Rewards of Virtue'. According to Lowndes, Shadwell altered the play and simply published under a new title in 1669.
