Paris: E. Dentu, 1869. First edition. Contemporary half leather Maclehose binding of tan leather and complementary marbled boards. illustrated ex libris of Kenneth H.M. Connal* to the inside front board. The end papers match the boards. Top edge gilt. half-title, title, dedication, preface & text. LI, 312 pp. 190 x 120 mm (7½ x 4¾ inches). There is a touch of rubbing to the edges of the spine. Slight stain to the front board, but still attractive. A little creasing to the title page. The rest of the illustrations and text block are in good, clean condition. An attractive work. *Kenneth H.M. Connal became Lt Colonel of the Lanarkshire Yeomanry in 1910. In 1915 he was commanding the Queen's Own Regiment. in 1916 he returned to his medical studies. Première édition. Reliure contemporaine en demi-cuir Maclehose en cuir beige et plats marbrés complémentaires. ex libris illustré de Kenneth H.M. Connal* au panneau avant intérieur. Les feuilles de garde correspondent aux planches. Bord supérieur doré. faux-titre, titre, dédicace, préface & texte. LI, 312 pages 190 par 120 mm (7½ par 4¾ pouces). Il y a une touche de frottement sur les bords de la colonne vertébrale. Légère tache sur le panneau avant, mais toujours attrayant. Un petit pli à la page de titre. Le reste des illustrations et le bloc de texte sont en bon état de propreté. Une œuvre séduisante. *Kenneth H.M. Connal devint lieutenant-colonel du Lanarkshire Yeomanry en 1910. En 1915, il commandait le Queen's Own Regiment. en 1916, il reprit ses études de médecine.
