Paris, Veuve Mabre Cramosi, 1695. 1st Edition . Hardcover. .. Two parts in one volume. Paginated consecutively. Small octavo. Pp. (xxiii, i.e. xx), 235; (iii), 244-291. Plus a copper-engraved allegorical frontispiece. Many copper-engraved medals, obverse and revers, some full-page. Title-page printed in red. Woodcut device to title and woodcut head- and tail-pieces. HARDCOVER, bound in contemporary mottled full calf, spine with raised bands, rubbed, spine-ends chipped, bottom with some worming, inner hinges cracked, bookplate cut off first paste-down. That specified, a lovely in the first binding with all the wonderful copperplates in excellent condition, being clean and free of foxing. ~ FIRST EDITION. Contemporary signature, dated 1706, to first free endpaper. The book comprises of two distinct parts, though the pagination is consecutive. Engraved title-page opens the second book. A short introduction follows, succeeded by 9 beautifull copper-engraved medals with allegorical texts at bottom and other texts on the rectos. H-2 OUT
