[The historical background of the artistic relations between Thessaloniki and Serbia - From late 12th century to the era of Krallis Milutin]

In Greek. Soft cover, 24 cm, 124 pp. Sotiris Kissas wrote this work initially in the Serbian language, as a post-graduate thesis for the Schoolof Philosophyof the Universityof Belgrade, in 1976. The work remained unpublished ever since, except from a part of it which was published in the "Zograph" magazine of Belgrade (11, 1980), under the title "Serbian medieval monuments in Thessaloniki". In the first chapter of this work, a review of the cultural and artistic relations between Thessalonikiand Serbia, from the late 12th to the Milutin’s era, is conducted. In the second chapter, the cultural framework of the artistic relations between Thessaloniki and Serbia during the same period is examined, while in the third one the Serbian monuments of Thessaloniki (Krali Milutin’s palace and churches, that is the monatic dependency of Haghios Gheorgios, the church of Haghios Nicolaos and the church of Haghia Triada, as well as other Serbian monuments, such as the monastery of Theotokos of Jerusalem invoked and the monastery of Haghios Gheorgios Kanitis). The text is enhanced with drawings and pictures.
