Both volumes very clean, but one short gift inscription on the front endpaper of volume 1. Volume 1 has the dust jacket, it is clean, but chipped. Volume 2, no jacket and top of spine is chipped.. Introduction by Christopher Morley. Illustrated in black & white: 237 illustrations in volume 1; 242 illustrations in volume 2. 11" high X 8" wide, 245 & 271 pages. Volume 1 covers the period 1747 to 1865; volume 2 covers 1865 to 1938. Volume 1 published 1933 and volume 2 in 1938. This book will be securely wrapped and packed in a sturdy box and shipped with tracking.. Hard Cover. Very Good.
