Octavo, pp. xiii, [9], 462, [2] catalogue. 9 engravings as called for comprising frontispiece and 6 plates, including one plate with 2 engravings, plus Arms of the Earl of Lonsdale to p. 370. Decorative initial letters throughout. Sympathetically rebound in dark brown half-calf with 5 raised bands, gilt titles to tan label to spine, decoration in blind to compartments. Marbled paper-covered boards. Spine slightly sunned; scattered light foxing, a little more noticeable on plates and Index; no annotation or inscriptions. A Very Good copy. Detailed history of the Workington, Millom and Egremont district, including Gosforth and St Bees, and second volume in the projected History of Cumberland series. Heavyweight so a contribution towards increased postage costs will be requested for overseas delivery.
