Slight wear to edges and corners of boards. Spine has a worn spot in the cloth midway near front joint. Label has some scuffing and scratching. Textblock lightly soiled. 448 p. w/illustrations, index. A survey of illustration, chronological and regional, from the Medieval west through the Orient , and then on up in Europe til the 20tjh C. A standard, imporatant foundation work in this subject
