Sidney Smith in a contemporary review, noted (Edinburgh Review), "The best of the English accounts is certainly that of Robert Wilson....'The narrative is extremely full and very entertaining." [see: ALLIBONE, Vol.III, p.2782]. As a member of Parliament, Wilson pressed to end the practice of corporeal punishment of soldiers, common at the time. Contents Of The Appendix.
