Boston: Houghton, Osgood and Company, 1880. First Edition. Hardcover. good . 498p, octavo. Complete with five maps - one in rear pocket, four folding tipped in. A good copy in red cloth boards, gilt lettering along spine. Minor wear to extremities. Front inner hinge jsut starting. Bookplate of Isaiah B Price (professor of mathematics at Union College) pasted to front end paper alongside a newspaper clipping from The Nation 1880 related to General Pope's Virginia Campaign. Slight discoloration from pasted clipping opposite on ffep. Maps are all present, with wear along edges and folds.
