Fifth Printing of the first American edition. 8vo, khaki cloth, gilt stamped spine title blocked in black with gilt and black cross to front cover, red topstain. Some faint toning to extremities, otherwise very clean and fresh with sharp edges; DJ spine very faintly sunned, some light rubbing to extremities, price intact and now wrapped in mylar. Etienne Gilson was founder of the Pontifical Institute of Medieval Studies in Toronto and one of the foremost Catholic philosophers in the modern era. Signed copies of his books are uncommon.
